Company
One rail for cards, alternative methods and payouts.
Cleared-pay is a payment platform built and hosted in the EEA. This page says what the product is, how the company works, and what it will not do.
What Cleared-pay is
One provider for the payments a merchant with real requirements actually needs, rather than a card gateway with everything else bolted to the side.
- Card acquiring
- Visa and Mastercard, plus the local schemes that matter in the markets you sell in, with authorization routing that can move traffic between acquirers.
- Alternative payment methods
- Wallets, open banking and bank transfer, buy now pay later, vouchers and crypto rails — 55 methods in the catalogue, behind one integration.
- Payouts
- Money out on the same rail as money in: single or bulk, to cards and to bank accounts, with the same reporting.
- A backoffice
- Transactions, settlements, fee breakdowns, disputes and reserves in one place, for the person who has to reconcile them rather than the person who demonstrates them.
- An API
- One request creates a payment; a signed webhook tells you what happened to it. A sandbox is available from the moment an account is created, before any contract.
How we work
- Underwriting that ends in an answer
- We ask what you sell, how you settle, where your customers are and what your dispute history looks like. You get a yes, a no, or the specific thing that would change the answer — not silence.
- A named person
- Every account has someone who answers, and their name is on the account. A ticket queue is a way to reach them, not a replacement for them.
- Engineering-led
- The documentation, the sandbox and the error messages are the product, not collateral for it. If an integration takes a call to finish, that is a defect in the docs.
- Built and hosted in the EEA
- The platform runs in the EEA, and the disclosures a European buyer runs a checklist against are published rather than promised.
What we will not do
These are constraints on the product and on this website, enforced in the build rather than left to good intentions.
- Name a client. No logo wall, no case study and no screenshot contains a real merchant. Where a customer story appears, a real customer will have agreed to it in writing first.
- Claim a licence, a certification or a scheme registration we do not hold. Every fact of that kind on this site is a visible placeholder until it is confirmed, and the Trust Center lists each one.
- Publish a number we have not measured. An approval rate, an uptime figure or a settlement time only appears here once it comes from our own data.
- Open an account without underwriting. There is no self-serve signup, because a decision that has not been made cannot be reversed cleanly later.
- Use stock photography of people, invented testimonials or an interface that does not exist.
